Who are we

LinguEx is an organisation made up of English ‘mother-tongue’ teachers who, collectively, have numerous years of experience in the field of English for foreign students. 

 We are looking to fill a need in the area of ‘on-the-spot’ English for adults through combining an excursion to a foreign English-speaking country accompanied by one of our tutors, with the ‘student’ being immersed in the language from the moment of their departure, through the ‘forced labour’ of having to make their own enquiries, bookings etc, but, at the same time, enjoying an unforgettable holiday.  

 Many of our tutors have also been in business for a number of years and are, therefore, fully equipped to accompany business people who may require the added advantage of an interpreter during their trip abroad.  Although our tutors are all English ‘mother-tongue’ they have also lived in Italy for a number of years giving the added advantage of identifying with the culture and Italian way of life and are, therefore, more attuned to the needs and requirements of the Italian student/tourist.

 Whilst the needs of children are generally very well catered for, the requirements of the adult who already has a basic knowledge of English and wishing to improve their practical English language skills while, at the same time, enjoying a wonderful, new experience in a foreign land, appears to be sorely lacking.  We are here to fill this need.

Our trips

 We have put together various ‘packages’ to attempt to cater for various needs.  This, of course, does not rule out a package being tailor-made for a group with alternative needs.  We have packages of 2 and 3 weeks which includes informal daily topical lessons based on the excursion of the day.   Naturally, a basic knowledge of English would be required.

 How big are our groups

 Ideally, groups will be a minimum of 5 people with a maximum of 15 over the age of 18.  There is no age limit, however, should anyone have a health problem that would exclude excursions on foot this would have to be brought to our attention prior to booking. 

 Our aim

 Our aim is to make ‘students’ eat, sleep and breathe English whilst having the time of their life!  We will ensure that their trip is both memorable and enlightening.  ‘Students’ will be encouraged to take the initiative when ordering, purchasing, asking directions or for assistance or in any situation which requires using English.  The emphasis being strongly on fun!
